In 2025 we achieved a C1 rating in our Regulatory Inspection; the highest rating against the Regulator of Social Housing’s consumer standards for how we’re delivering the outcomes of the consumer standards, a reflection of the incredible work happening across Citizen and the dedication and care shown by every Citizen colleague. It also reflects the voices of our customers, whose feedback has helped shape the way we work and improve.

As our new Director of Building Safety, you will have responsibility for the Compliance, Fire Safety, and Corporate Health and Safety functions, and be part of the Senior Leadership Team. This is more than a Building Safety role, you will also be a highly effective people leader who leads, supports, develops and guides your Directorate to be a highly engaged and performing team to ensure the best possible service for our customers.

We have achieved a lot, but we are not stopping here as there’s more for us to do. We have plans to continuously improve and our Director of Building Safety will have a key role to play in leading the change.

We’re putting our customers first and supporting communities through some ambitious regeneration projects, through building much needed homes that the West Midlands desperately needs and not forgetting the investment we’re making in our existing homes and our Director of Building Safety will have a key role  to play.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Building Safety professional to join Citizen and be part of Citizen’s Senior Leadership Team, which including the Executive Leadership Team, is 16 people strong; taking collective responsibility for ensuring Citizen is effectively meeting its strategic and operational priorities, living our values and behaviours and promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We work collaboratively, supporting each other to achieve our ambition.
